Santa Clara, CA. – July 16, 2004 – MEDCONX, a leading provider of connector systems, has introduced the Smart Block that integrates electronics into a Smart Connector™ for minimally invasive surgical and diagnostic instruments and hand pieces.
“What we’re doing is seamlessly integrating our Smart Block connector technology platform into Smart Cable connections that are compact, seamless and provide a better solution at a lower cost for our customers,” states Mike Viguerie, President and CEO of MEDCONX.
He further adds, “This uniquely applied solution reduces manufacturing costs, raises production yields, and provides greater performance and reliability. In many cases, it does not affect any regulatory filings. The Smart Block can be used as a drop-in replacement for all connectors used in disposable medical devices. It’s amazing technology.”
Leveraging MEDCONX expertise in advanced PC-board and mass-production IC placement technology has made these new connector systems possible, particularly when it comes to fine wire terminations. “The MEDCONX process eliminates the time-consuming and cost-sensitive tasks of hand assembly that negatively impacts yields and Q.C. margins in an ever increasing cost competitive market for minimally invasive devices.” Viguerie added.
